Disney Trip in Review
March 14, 2023
On February second, the Marion Center Marching Band departed for Disney World. They were accompanied by the Homer Center Marching Band to make a combination of the two during their parade through Magic Kingdom.
Their first day in Disney was spent in Animal Kingdom, where the band enjoyed the rides and different shows the park has to offer. On the second day was their parade with Homer Center through Magic Kingdom, where they spent their day. They performed the “Mickey Mouse March”, “It’s a Small World”, “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah”, and “Prince of Thieves” during the parade. The bands sounded great together, and it was a really good opportunity to work with and perform with other people they normally wouldn’t be able to.
The third day was spent at Epcot, where most of the day was spent eating and shopping. The bands enjoyed a private dessert party while watching the show on the lake in the center. The fourth and last day was spent in Hollywood Studios, where everyone met their favorite characters and many rode one of the most famous rides: The Tower of Terror.
The trip was a major success for both bands and will be something these students will remember as a core memory of their time in marching band. If you wish to see more photos of the trip, as well as other news about the marching, concert, and jazz bands, follow @marion_center_bands on Instagram.
