Senior Spotlight: Nick Pacconi

Senior Spotlight: Nick Pacconi

Mackenzie Thomas, Sports and Feature Editor

This year the Stinger Newspaper would like to recognize each of our seniors in the Senior Spotlight portion of our paper. We took the time to ask the class of 2023 some questions about themselves, and their time here at The Hive. Take some time today to read all about Nick Pacconi!

As a young child, Nick always dreamed he would someday become a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball player. That dream is prevalent in Nick as he is nearing the end of his time in high school. He’s carried his love for baseball throughout his years by playing sports for Marion Center and other programs. Nick hopes to go to IUP and grow to be a successful individual after leaving high school.

Nick has been a hardworking, driven athlete throughout all of his years here at Marion Center. He has played baseball for 13 years. Although the freshman season was brought to halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he told the Stinger News that his love for baseball aspires from getting to play with friends. Even his baseball coach, Mike Pacconi, left a huge impact on him by teaching him plenty of life lessons. Nick has accomplished many things in his baseball career, but his proudest achievement was winning the Heritage Conference baseball title in 2022.

After graduation in the spring, Nick will have so many memories to look back at. His favorite was his 8th-grade English class with Dr. Monsour. When asked who impacted him the most Nick told the News team, “Dr. Monsour, because she has helped me learn and is a great teacher.” When asked if there was anything he wished to change about his experience here at Marion Center, the only thing he mentioned was COVID-19, because of the missed opportunities.

His final farewell to the underclassmen is: “School isn’t just for education, it’s also about having fun and meeting new people.”
