Senior Spotlight: Dakota Bracken

Senior Spotlight: Dakota Bracken

Mackenzie Thomas, Sports and Feature Editor

This year the Stinger Newspaper would like to recognize each of our seniors in the Senior Spotlight portion of our paper. We took the time to ask the class of 2023 some questions about themselves, and their time here at The Hive. Take some time today to read all about Dakota Bracken!

As a young child, Dakota always dreamed he would someday become an astronomer, though he will not be pursuing this career in the future. His love and dedication to sports have merged together, and now his goal is to attend lineman training or trade school to become a journeyman lineman.

Dakota has been a hardworking, driven athlete throughout all of his years here at Marion Center. He has played baseball for 12 years, basketball for 7 years, and football for 10 years. Although his freshman season was  brought to halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he tells the Stinger News “I enjoy baseball and football the most because of the challenges and the character it builds throughout.”  Dakota has been greatly impacted by not only his team but his coach as well. Coach Mike Pacconi and Adam Rising have influenced him the most, because they have shown him perseverance, willingness, and toughness throughout every season he played.

Dakota has made many memories here at Marion Center and wanted to give us some insight into this. Out of all of his classes, his favorite was Mr. Rising’s P.E. class. In an interview with the Stinger News team, he stated, “My favorite memory in high school was seeing Nick Pacconi wear his ROTC uniform every Thursday during Freshman year.”

His final farewell to the underclassmen is: “Cherish your friendships and enjoy every second of high school, because it’s over in the blink of an eye.”
