Strong Start to Stingers Track Season!!

The varsity track and field opened their season yesterday, March 28th at the Punxsatany high school. After a week of expected rainy weather, they were pleasantly surprised by the sunshine and light breezes as the evening continued.

First-place highlights included:

Reagen Ryen- 1600 Meter Run

Reagan Ryen-  800 Meter Run

Mikayla Gatskie- 300 Meter Hurdles

Milayna Leasure- Shotput

Rachel Fox- Pole Vault

For many team members, it was their first varsity track meet, but with the help of the veteran track and field athletes, they were made to feel right at home on the track.

“No matter what happens when you race today, I’ll only be mad if you don’t try your hardest. So go out there and try your hardest and have fun.” Coach Sitosky told the girls and boys 200m runners as they warmed up for their race.

Rachel Fox-  2nd Place 100 Meter Hurdles

Mackenzie Thomas- 2nd Place 100 Meter Dash and  3rd Place 200 Meter Dash

Olivia Gaston and Brooke Heigley – 3rd Place tie 100 Meter Dash

JJ Ferraro- 3rd Place 1600 Meter Run and  3rd Place 3200 Meter Run

Evan Risinger- 2nd Place 400 Meter Dash and 2nd Place Pole Vault

Rachel Fox- 3rd Place 300 Meter Hurldles

Landon Cook- 3rd Place 300 Meter Hurdles

Cameron Pack- 3rd Place 800 Meter Run

Brynnley Haggerty- 3rd Place 3200 Meter Run

Olivia Short- 2nd Place Discus Throw

Molly Beer- 2nd Place Javelin

Olivia Vehovic- 2nd Place Triple Jump

Collin Anderson- 3rd Place Discus Throw

The Stingers are back in action next week against Penns  Manor
