Stingers Compete at the Mountain Lion Classic

On Friday, May 5th, 2023 the Marion Center Track and field competed at the Mountain Lion Classic in Altoona. After a long rainy week of practices, the team was grateful to have sunshine for the entire day.

The Mountain Lion Classic is held annually at Mansion Park Stadium. This meet ensured great competition, officiating, and awards. It also served as a learning opportunity for all of the athletes, putting them up against some of the toughest competitions they have had all season. Even against the fierce competition, the Stingers showed their strength, determination, and competitiveness to leave the meet feeling accomplished.

Notable finishes included:

Reagan Ryen- 1st place 800-meter run

Reagen Ryen runs the 800 meter

Evan Risnger- 2nd place pole vault

Milyana Leasure- 7th place shot put

The girl’s 4×400 meter relay team of Mikayla Gatskie, Claire Hood, Mackenzie Thomas, and Reagen Ryen placed 6th.

The girl’s 4×800 meter relay team of Mikayla Gatskie, Maggie Hood, Reagen Ryen, and Claire Hood placed 5th.

The Stingers will be back in action on Tuesday May 9th at United High School to compete for the title of Heritage Conference Champions,
