According to their website, The Indiana County Technology Center is a regional technology center that provides students with industry-certified technical and academic-enriched career programs. The school provides state-of-the-art equipment within a safe environment. Through integrated technical and academic curricula, students learn theory and skills providing pathways to post-secondary education and employment in high-growth and high-demand careers.

When asked about his thoughts on students joining ICTC, the principal, Mr.Worthington, stated, “It is my belief that students should attend the Indiana County Technology Center to gain skills that will make them employable and distinguish them from other potential candidates.”

When going to ICTC students earn the chance to work on their communication skills. They get to meet new people from several different sending schools. These include Marion Center, Homer Center, Penns Manor, Purchase Line, Indiana, United, and River Valley. There is also a wide variety of trades you can choose from, including Automotive Technology, Carpentry, Culinary Arts, Cosmetology, Collision Repair Technology, Digital Communications, Electrical Occupations, Graphics & Electronic Media, Health Occupations Technology, Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning, Information Technologies, Masonry, Machining Technology, and Welding Technology. This gives students a wide variety to choose from to ensure that they can enter the trade they are most interested in.

If you like getting involved in school organizations, there are four for ICTC leadership. These include Student Challenge Program, National Technical Honor Society, PA Builders Association Student Chapter (Carpentry, Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning, and masonry), and SkillsUSA. Having these opportunities gives students a reason to want to excel with their work at ICTC, as well as their home school.

The mission of the Indiana County Technology Center is to provide all learners a safe, caring environment that includes the integration of a challenging technical and academic education with an emphasis on the development of skills which provides pathways to further education and employment in an ever-changing world.

My name is Alexis Bias, I am a Senior at Marion Center Area High School and a third year in the Graphics program at the Indiana County Technology Center. I am also involved in the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. Last school year I tried to contribute as much as possible to the Stinger Newspaper, but couldn't do as much as I wanted to since I couldn't participate in clubs. This year I have had the opportunity to join the Stinger Newspaper Crew, and School Scribes at the Indiana County Technology Center as well. Ultimately, being a part of the Newspaper Club is giving me the opportunity to better my writing and journalism skills, plus give people throughout the school a way to get their opinions and ideas out.
