District Band 2024 In Review

Charlie Marshall, JJ Ferraro, Sarah Moore, Trevin Buente, and Mr. Page before the District Band concert.

On January 18th, five Marion Center students and band director, Mr. Page traveled to West Shamokin High School to participate in the PMEA District 3 Festival. Charlie Marshall (trombone), JJ Ferrero (percussion), Sarah Moore (trombone), Carley Shoop (saxophone), and Trevin Buente (tuba) all auditioned Thursday night for the chance to move on to the PMEA Region 2 festival hosted at Meadville high school later this month.

Charlie Marshall placed second in his section and will be moving on to the Regional level where he will have the chance to move on to the PMEA All-State Festival. He made it to All-State last year at Kalahari, earning first chair in his section as well as an automatic return to Districts 2024. If he places high enough at Region Band again, he will move on to the 2024 All-State festival held in Erie.

Charlie, JJ, Sarah, and Trevin performed a great show on Saturday and represented the Marion Center Music Department well. Charlie, Sarah, and Trevin will also be participating in the District 3 Choir Festival later this week at Freeport High School. Joining them will be Brittany McIntire and Josh McIsaac where they will go through the same process to have a chance at a chair at the Region Choir Festival.

Good job to those District Band students and good luck to the District Choir students!
