Welcome back MC Students and Staff!!! Are you excited to be back? This summer went by fast, or as many say too fast. When you’re in the halls take a look around, you’ll see new and familiar faces! Many things have changed this year, cell phone policy, bus rides, and grade levels but the same great school spirit is buzzing around in our school.

Some important dates for all to know include:

Friday, August 30th we will not have school, as it is an Act 80 Day

Monday, September 2nd, we will not have school, as it’s Labor Day

Wednesday, September 4th, make sure to smile big as we will have our picture day!!!

Wednesday, September 11th, is High School Open House from 6 PM until 8 PM

Friday, September 27th, is the Homecoming Football Game

Saturday, September 28th from 7 PM until 10 PM, Homecoming Dance (grades 9-12)

As for activities to partake in the fall around Indiana County, we have fairs. Indiana County Fair is from August 24th until August 31st (you can find more information here). The Marion Center Mean Green Marching Machine and all other Indiana County Marching Bands (including IUP) will attend Band Night at the Indiana County Fair, on Tuesday, August 27th. Following that we have, Ox Hill Community Agriculture Fair from September 1st until September 7th, you can find more information here). And after that, we have the Cookport Fair, from September 9th until September 14th (you can find more information here).

This will be an awesome school year. Challenge yourself this year, try to branch out, and make the most of your year, whatever grade you’re in, make new memories, and make some new friends. Let’s have a great 24-25 school year Stingers!!

"Remember there is good in this world, and bad, and ugly." -Unknown Hello, welcome to The Stinger! My name is Molly Spence, I am a class of 2026 Junior and the Co-Editor-In-Chief for The Stinger Newspaper. I am involved in the Newspaper, Marion Center Mean Green Marching Machine as one of the Section Leaders for the Color Guard, a representative of Marion Center High School for United Way, ATHENA Club as the head of public relations, Art Club, and library assistant. This is my third year in Newspaper. I've been assistant editor for two years, and this is my first year as Co-Editor-In-Chief. My future goals include attending Lycoming College to major in Psychology to accomplish my career goal of being a clinical psychologist, and continuing my education (master’s and doctoral degrees) at another college. Apart from my aspiring career and education dreams, something people may not know about me is I twirl batons (1, 2 and 3 batons). I was a competitive twirler, as for right now I'm doing my own training, and improving my skills and learning new tricks. I also love ducks. I have two ducks who hate my batons when I’m twirling but love to go up to them and peck them when I’m not twirling. I don’t allow them anywhere near the fire baton, of course. My ducks and twirling are giant parts of my life, as well as psychology class here in the high school and my own research and education. By being a part of The Stinger, I want to make everyone's voice heard and leave no one behind, because after all, we, Marion Center High School students, are all in this together.
