I’ve been a part of The Stinger for three years, through my years as a writer and editor, I’ve learned a lot about leadership, writing, certain topics, and those who I work with. I’ve had a lot of fun, writing for The Stinger Newspaper, and so can you! Show up to one of our meetings, try it out, see if you like it, and if you do, join us!
I’m a junior currently looking at colleges and jobs for my future. Many of the jobs that I am considering require skills that are not only taught through the newspaper but also are given room for growth and improvement. Behind all of the articles that are published, are teenage writers dedicating their time to reporting about things that they’re involved in or things that are happening around the school. Being a part of the Stinger Newspaper is a great way to get involved.
Since becoming a part of The Stinger, my leadership skills have grown tremendously because of the healthy, supportive, and accepting environment we have created for our staff members. Some skills you will develop or strengthen with The Stinger include; leadership, writing, reading, interviewing, photography, persuasive writing, graphic design, time management, communication, research skills, problem-solving, persistence, critical thinking, organization, logical reasoning, and networking.
As a writer or photographer, you have the chance to be published author or photographer in the Indiana Gazette! And honestly, there are no words to describe just how cool of an experience that is. All subscribers of the Indiana Gazette will get a copy of your article, a token of your hard work, available in print and online throughout our community.
The Stinger newspaper has a spot for you! Why not give it a try? Join us on Club Day A, and see just what it’s like being a Stinger Newspaper writer. If you have any questions about The Stinger Newspaper, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Bernat, or an editor, we would be thrilled to have you join us!
