Performing arts students have been working hard this school year to prepare for their concerts. Come out and support Marion Center Jr. Sr. High performers for no cost.
On December 12th at 7:00pm, Marion Center’s junior high concert band will take to the stage to kick off the band concert. This year, the junior high band is playing three songs: Above and Beyond by James Swearingen, Santa the Barbarian and the Pirates of the North Pole by Randall Standridge, and Castles and Dragons by Todd Stalter. Following the junior high band’s performance, the senior high concert band will perform their concert.
To top off the band concert, there will be an exciting performance from the jazz band, an jazz ensemble open to students in grade eight through twelve. This year, the jazz band will be performing Big Band Holiday, Carol of the Bells, and a twist on Angels We Have Heard on High called Holiday Jam. To end the concert and uphold tradition, the jazz band will perform All I Want for Christmas is You.
On December 9th at 7:00p, the junior high choir will start off this year’s choir concert. They will be performing a variety of exciting and fun songs including: Look Up, Way Down, Jazz Cantante, Silver Bells, which is a classic Christmas favorite.
After the junior high choir performs, select choir, an audition-only ensemble made up of senior high students will perform Carol of the Bells. Following the select choir’s performance, the senior high choir will perform their concert.
There will also be a special performance that includes alumni of O Holy Night. After this, the junior high students will join the senior high choir on the stage to perform a combined number, A Very Merry Christmas.
