The Marion Center Area School District presented their rendition of Disney’s Freaky Friday The Musical on February 21st and 22nd.
Katherine Blake, portrayed by Senior Olivia Short, is an out-going, work obsessed mother who struggles with balancing work, and her relationship with her daughter, Ellie Blake, portrayed by Freshman Adah McClellan. Tension is in the air as both Katherine and Ellie believe the other wouldn’t last a day in their lives. A magic hourglass broken between them changes that. Ellie is now a teenager is a woman’s body, preparing to get married while, Katherine is a woman in a teenager’s body who struggles to fit in in the high school setting with the popular mean girls and manage her teenage body. Adam, portrayed by Sophomore Clark McKee, is named list master for the year and their final clue to get in their possession is the other magic hourglass that switched Katherine and Ellie. Competing against Katherine in Ellie’s body is the mean girl, Savannah, portrayed by Sophomore Carissa Adkins, and her minions, Sophomore Adelyn Burns and Freshman Reagan Storm. In the end, Ellie and Katherine switch back and Katherine happily marries Mike, portrayed by Junior Josh McIssac.
All three shows had audiences thrilled. All of the hard work all of the students involved in the musical put into it, paid off. All three shows were very successful.
