Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools provides monthly problem-solving contests for select individuals in Grades 4-8th. It normally starts from November until March. The elementary division is grades 4th, 5th, and 6th and the Middle division is 7th and 8th.
Every problem requires careful mathematical thinking questions, and there’s a time limit. MOEMS was first founded in 1977 by George Lenchner. MOEMS became a public competition in 1979. MOEMS is one of the most influential and fun filled math competitions in the U.S and around the world. More than 120,000 students from each state, and from 39 different countries participate each year. Competition dates aren’t the same for everyone, and they are not the same every year.
