Marion Center High School’s Pottery Club has embarked on an inspiring collaboration with The Paper Garden Co., a beloved local bookstore and plant shop located at 655 Church Street in Indiana, PA. This partnership aims to foster creativity, promote sustainability, and strengthen community ties through a unique blend of art and horticulture.
The Paper Garden Co. is renowned for its cozy atmosphere, offering a curated selection of books and a DIY Plant Bar where patrons can pot and personalize their own plants. This interactive space encourages visitors to engage with nature and express their creativity.

In support of this initiative, the Marion Center High School Pottery Club has generously donated 30 handcrafted pots and 10 cups and mugs to The Paper Garden Co. These student-created pieces will be available for use in the DIY Plant Bar, allowing customers to select a one-of-a-kind vessel for their plant projects.
“This collaboration provides our students with a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the community while showcasing their artistic talents,” said Cassidy States, President of the Pottery Club. “It’s rewarding to see our work appreciated in a real-world setting.” States has expressed her appreciation for the hard work of the members of Pottery Club, specifically thanking Brayden Stile for producing the most pieces that will be donated.
The partnership not only highlights the students’ craftsmanship but also emphasizes the importance of supporting local businesses and sustainable practices. By integrating student art into the retail experience, The Paper Garden Co. offers customers a chance to connect with the community on a deeper level.
This collaboration exemplifies how educational institutions and local businesses can work together to enrich the community, providing students with practical experiences and residents with unique, locally crafted products.
