Welcome back, Stinger students and staff for the 2025-26 school year!! There have been some significant changes to the high school over the summer, making the school feel like a whole new place to students. As you walk around the halls, you’ll see new and familiar faces -even in the staff! Regardless of the changes, the school spirit in the hallways is unbeelievable!
One of the biggest changes was to the library system. What was previously known as the library or Intermediate Learning Center (IMC) is now called the College & Career Readiness Center (CCRC for short). The CCRC is led by our very own Dr. Monsour, and joining her on Tuesdays is Mrs. Krizmanich from the elementary. The CCRC will also have student helpers for the library portion soon! The CCRC is designed to help students get ready for their next steps, college, and careers.
Another big change was the staff and classes…
A new, rebranded addition of the STAR period was also made. Now STAR period is called HIVE, which stands for Helping Individuals Value Education. This rebranding puts students with teachers who teach their grade level (ex., Seniors will be with teachers who teach Senior classes, rather than 7th graders being with a teacher who teaches Senior classes, and vice versa). The rebranding is meant to support students who would be in the same classes, because chances are, if one person has a question, more than one person has that question, so the teacher could then instruct their HIVE class on the question.
Challenge yourself this year, try to branch out, and make the most of your year, whatever grade you’re in, make new memories, and make some new friends. All of us here at the Stinger Newspaper, hope you have a great 2025-26 school year!
