Senior Spotlight: Allison Yeomans
February 15, 2023
This year the Stinger Newspaper would like to recognize each of our seniors in the Senior Spotlight portion of our paper. We took the time to ask the class of 2023 some questions about themselves, and their time here at The Hive. Take some time today to read all about Allison Yeomans!
As a young child, Allison always dreamed she would become a world-renowned pop star. Her early love for music followed her throughout high school, and the rest of her life, and led her to many notable accomplishments. In 2022, Allison qualified for Region Choir. And that’s not the only place her musical talent took her. She has been a part of six spring musical productions. This includes Mary Poppins, Into the Woods, Hello Dolly, Phantom of the Opera, and A Christmas Carol, and this year she will perform in her final high school production: Chicago: Teen Edition. Not just a vocalist, Allison has also been a proud member of the Marion Center Marching Band for 6 years and was a drum major for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. In addition, she has also been a choir and concert band member since 4th grade.
“I enjoy marching band and musical the most because it gives me time to see all of my friends and make music together,” she told the Stinger News. Her favorite memory in high school was playing Carlotta in the Phantom of the Opera.
Academically, Allison has been a dedicated student! As a member of the National Honor Society for 2 years who never fails to make the honor roll, she has shown time and time again that her academics are a top priority. Her favorite class has been music theory.
When asked, which teachers and/or coaches have influenced her the most throughout her high school career, Allison was quick to her answer. “Mrs. Stolarz has influenced me the most because of her character and her talent.”
Following her graduation from Marion Center in June, Allison has big plans. She will be attending IUP to double major in music education and vocal performance.
Her farewell message to the underclassmen: “Enjoy it while it lasts.”
