Senior Spotlight: Jordan Parsell

Mackenzie Thomas, Sports and Entertainment Editor

This year the Stinger Newspaper would like to recognize each of our seniors in the Senior Spotlight portion of our paper. We took the time to ask the class of 2023 some questions about themselves, and their time here at The Hive. Take some time today to read all about Jordan Parsell!

As a young child, Jordan always thought she would someday become a nurse. That dream is prevalent in Jordan as she is nearing the end of her time in high school. “I am proud of working very hard in school to be able to pursue a job in the health care field.” Jordan tells the Stinger News.

During her time as a Stinger here at Marion Center, Jordan has not only learned a lot but has made lasting memories! “My favorite memory at Marion Center would be the limo before and after prom, all the singing and laughter filled the limo and it is something I will never forget.” Jordan says. Her favorite class here at Marion Center is pottery because it allowed her to be able to express herself and be as creative as she wanted without limitations.

Outside of the classroom, Jordan was never afraid to try new things and push herself out of her comfort zone. She participated in a wide variety of extracurriculars to prove it! She had been a member of the swim team, the cross county team, and the track and field team at Marion Center. In addition, she also was a competitive cheerleader at Cheer Trixx Allstars.

When asked, what teachers and/or coaches have influenced her the most throughout her high school career, Jordan was very happy to tell the Stinger News. “The teacher that has influenced me the most throughout my high school career would be Doctor Monsour. She has always been very personable since she came to Marion Center. She always asks how you are doing and always has an open door and ears if you are having a bad day. She wants you to succeed and is so proud of anything you accomplish, even the smallest things. She is by far one of the best teachers I have had.”

After graduation in the spring, Jordan will miss so many things. “The thing I will miss most after Graduation is the friendly relationship that I have made with some teachers here at Marion Center. They always made me feel like I had a safe place to go and talk to if I needed to rant, or even just talk about the good things that are happening in my life.” Jordan plans to attend the Indiana University of Pennsylvania to become an ultrasound tech for 3 years, and following that she plans to complete her schooling in Ohio.
Jordan’s farewell message to the underclassmen is: “C’s get degrees, but in all seriousness just do your best. If teachers see you are trying and not just goofing off they may go easier on you and be more willing to give you extra help if needed, never be scared to ask for help either.”
