Senior Spotlight: Alexis Roush

This year the Stinger Newspaper would like to recognize each of our seniors in the Senior Spotlight portion of our paper. We took the time to ask the class of 2023 some questions about themselves, and their time here at The Hive. Take some time today to read all about Lexi Roush!

As a young child, Lexi always dreamed she would someday become a nurse, and that dream is prevalent in Lexi as she is nearing the end of her time in high school. Her love and dedication to sports have merged together and now her goal is to become Athletic Trainer in the majors.

Lexi has been a hardworking, driven athlete throughout all of her years here at Marion Center. She has played varsity softball for 4 years and played on a travel softball team for 9 years. During her freshman year, Lexi was beyond excited to play on the same varsity team as her sister. Although her season was  brought to halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic, she tells the Stinger News “I enjoy softball the most just because of all the friendships that you make and all the memories that will last a lifetime.”  Lexi has accomplished many things in her softball career, but her proudest accomplishment was making the All-Gazette Land Softball Team in 2022.

Not only has Lexi been a stand-out athlete here at Marion Center, but she has also been a part of the Yearbook class for 3 years. She has served as the editor in Chief of the Yearbook for 2 of those years. She expressed to the Stinger News that Yearbook has been one of her favorite classes here. The Yearbook advisor, Dr. Monsour, is also one of Lexi’s favorite teachers here at the hive. “Dr. Monsour had a great impact on my high school career because she pushed me to be the best me.” Lexi expressed.

After graduation in the spring, Lexi will miss so many things. She says that she will miss her teachers the most. Lexi plans on going to a four-year college and majoring in Athletic Training. Her dream of becoming an athletic trainer has greatly come from some of her influences here at school.  “Mrs. Anderson and Tyler the trainer have helped me figure out that I want to do what they are doing now.”
