It’s been a tough year so far for this year for Marion Center’s junior high girl’s basketball team, with only two wins so far and half of our season gone. That doesn’t mean there hasn’t been improvement though, in fact, there’s been a ton!
This year’s team is on the large side with a total of nineteen seventh and eighth grade girls. They’ve all made a big commitment to coming to practice and working hard everyday.
Our coaches this year are Coach Travis Trimble and Coach Paige as the assistant coach. Both of our coaches have contributed a lot of their time to benefit the junior high girl’s basketball program.
Our first win this season was at River Valley Middle School, with the score of 11-31. We will play River Valley again this year at home on February 2, which will be our last game of the season. We’ll be hoping for another win!
Our second win this season was against Conemaugh Valley High School, with the score of 6-12.
We are hoping that our hard work has paid off and we’ll win a few more games before the end of the season.
Anyone hoping to attend any of the girl’s basketball games should check out the schedule on mcstingers.org.
This may not have been our strongest year, but everyone’s learned a lot about basketball and being a team. Next year, we hope to be coming back stronger than ever for a winning season!
