On November 13th after school, Marion Center students in grades ranging from elementary to high school hit the court for Green and Gold Night, an exciting start to the basketball season.
Green in Gold night is a tradition at Marion Center Jr. Sr. High School, held in the Donald D. Seanor Gymnasium, where students trying out for the basketball team scrimmage each other to kick off the season.
The girls trying out for the junior high basketball team started the exciting night. The score was pretty close throughout the game, but as the clock hit zero, the score was tied. The girls went into a one-minute overtime, and the green team took the win by two points.
Next, the Junior High boys hit the court for an exciting fast-paced game. They showed the community they’re ready for a great season.
Later, some Junior and Senior high school players joined elementary school students for some fun basketball games. It’s a great opportunity for elementary school players to spend some time with the players on the middle school and high school teams.
The Girl’s Varsity team came out hot and ready for the night. After their successful season last year, they were ready to get back into the game.
At the end of the night, the varsity boy’s team hit the court for their game.
All of the basketball teams worked hard during the off-season to improve their skills and technique. Whether it was open gyms or out-of-school teams, everyone did their best to improve after the season last year and into the summer.
This year’s Green and Gold Night was an exciting time for everyone in the community who was able to make it to the games. After an exciting night, the players were pepped up to make the 2024-2025 basketball season a great one!
