  1. Olivia Short, a junior here at Marion Center, was crowned as Indiana County Fair Queen for the 2023 season. Along with her alternate fair queen, Rylee Lee, a 2023 graduate of Purchase Line, the Indiana County Queens were at the fair representing themselves, their families, and their schools. On August 29th, the Marion Center Marching Band hosted the Indiana County Fair’s Band Night, the band performed their halftime show with our queen trumpet player, Olivia Short.

Olivia shows sheep, goats, and steers (male cattle). Olivia says, “Being fair queen has been the best and in a way most challenging experience ever. Not only did it challenge me as a livestock shower to have really good time management but it also challenged my social abilities. I was fortunate to meet people of all ages and diversities during the week. Being fair queen has helped me appreciate how much work goes into making my fair the best it can be. I am looking forward to the year of representing my fair and can’t wait for the state convention!” With the Indiana County Fair ended, Olivia and the MCHS Marching Band will be traveling to other fairs, be sure to go and support our royalty and our band!
