Earlier this week Mrs. Stolarz announced that Marion Center Jr. Sr. Area High School’s 2026 spring musical will be The Little Mermaid. In just a few months students will take to the stage to perform on opening night!
The Little Mermaid is a treasured story with bright, fun characters and catchy music. It sends a unique message about courage and curiosity.
Many people are familiar with Disney’s story of The Little Mermaid. It’s based on one of Hans Christian Anderson’s original fairy tales. The story of The Little Mermaid has been loved for generations.
In Disney’s adaptation of The Little Mermaid, Ariel, a mermaid who is the daughter of King Triton, falls in love with Prince Eric, a human. She makes a deal with Ursula, the evil sea witch, to trade her tail for legs. However, the deal is not what it appears to be. Ariel has to rely on the help of some of her animal friends: Flounder, a fish, Scuttle, a seagull, and Sebastian, a crab.
This musical features many well-known songs that the audience will know and adore, including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” and “Part of Your World.”
All students who attend Marion Center Jr. Sr. Area High School are welcome to be a part of this production. Talk to Mrs. Stolarz to get information about auditioning to be a part of the cast, or if you are interested in joining the crew or pit orchestra. Being a part of the musical is a great opportunity for any interested students because it offers a wide variety of options, whether you are interested in singing, dancing, acting, lighting, playing instruments, and more.
